The Magnificent Mile which lines Streeterville, faced a embarrassing mishap today. when a power outage hit the shops at North Bridge on Michigan Avenue today, shutting down restaurants, stores, as well as escalators and elevators.    The outage occurred at about 10 am yesterday.  It was the results of failed transformers.  No indications if the snow storm and cold whether contributed to it or not.  The power remained out as late as of 2 p.m. yesterday.  According to the manager of the North Bridge mall, the power to the common areas of the mall were affected but the stores remained open.
